“first of all we need to recognize that 75%, 3/4ers of all firearms deaths in Canada are suicides, another 1/5th of homicides are domestic violence. So what we need to focus on from an emergency point of view is um keeping firearms away from those that are at risk. It's a fact, we want to stay as data driven as possible, it's a fact that having a gun in the house increases the risk of suicide, increases the risk of domestic violence, no other, nothing else different, just having a gun in the house or not”
